LeRoy Pack and Emil Paul are stirring it up for the Oakhurst Elks Lodge annual Veterans Day Spaghetti Feed with all proceeds going to veterans. The dinner is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9. The program starts at 6 p.m. with patriotic music and songs; the Sounds of Freedom band will perform. The Elks will have a proper flag disposal after the dinner. The VA hospital in Fresno is a particular charity of the local Elks, who put in hundreds of hours and donate hundreds of dollars and, as Paul said, always have a presence at Christmas. The dinner costs $8 for adults and $4 for people younger than 10 — except for World War II vets, who get their dinner for free. Purchase tickets in advance or at the door.
