As of Monday morning, the fire had burned 280 acres and was 70 percent contained. Full containment was expected Tuesday. There was minimal fire activity through Sunday night. Monday firefighters planned to continue to improve the fire line and mop up within 500 feet of the perimeter. Helicopters were to continue water drops. Peckinpah Road to Whiskey Falls is closed. Road 7S07/7S76 at Fish Creek is closed to the public.

The fire is believed to have been started by people and is under investigation. No homes have been lost.
