The Oakhurst Pétanque Club's John and Tish Harris took first place in the Southwest Region Mixed Doubles Pétanque competition on Sunday in Los Angeles.
They beat two of the Los Angeles Pétanque Club's top players, Artem Zuev an Diana Jacobs.
Jacobs was Oakhurst's Mary Mann's partner at the Nationals competition in Florida earlier this year.
On Saturday, in the Southwest select doubles competition, the Harris' took second in the consolante (consolation) round of play.
Also from the Oakhurst Pétanque Club and playing in the Sunday mixed doubles event were pairs Nathan Doster and Pat Stampher of Atascadero and Mary and Ed Mann of Oakhurst.
The Oakhurst club and the new Fresno Pétanque Club have a close relationship, and Tim Channell and Terry Bond of the new Fresno Club also played in the Sunday event.
