A 911 call from the western tip of Yosemite Lakes Park Friday led to the recovery of property reported stolen just hours earlier from a vacant home located on Starlight Drive in Coarsegold, according to reports from the Madera County Sheriff's Department.
Reports indicate dispatch received a 911 hang-up call from a home on Revis Way. Per policy, deputies arrived on location for assistance and discovered a garage full of reported stolen property from another home just hours earlier. The stolen goods found in the garage reportedly included antique steamer trunks, an antique dresser and framed pictures.
The victim reportedly had put the house on the market, and the home belonged to her mother who passed away.
As a result of the find, deputies arrested Leslie Garachana of Coarsegold, 48, who was located in the same garage where the goods were found and then transported to the Department of Corrections and booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property. Bail is set at $10,000. The investigation is ongoing.
