A Lindsay farmhand and bullrider faces numerous charges, including assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest and felony vandalism, stemming from an incident at the Coarsegold Rodeo grounds Saturday shortly after 11:30 p.m., according to reports from the Madera County Sheriff's Department.
The Coarsegold Rodeo dance was held Saturday at the grounds from 8 to 11 p.m.
Mark McNutt, 24, was booked on suspicion of drunk and disorderly conduct, assault, resisting arrest and felony vandalism. Reports indicate that Sgt. Tyson Pogue, Deputy Joseph Wilder and Reserve Deputy Ray Souders arrived to conduct a patrol check and they heard yelling and screaming near the entrance of the grounds. The three officers broke up a fight, while trying to subdue the crowd and separate two men.
McNutt was arrested and then reportedly began butting the side window of the patrol car until it shattered, and at one point reportedly tried to crawl out.
McNutt was transferred to another patrol car and was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections. He posted $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court June 3.
