Cats still in need of homes

Dear Editor:

Regarding the article, ("Ousted Cats Need Homes," Sierra Star 4/18/08) about the cats rescued by Tisa Lynch, we are hoping with the extra publicity, cat lovers will respond with open hearts and homes.

I do want to make one thing clear. It is not now, nor has it ever been the policy of the Eastern Madera County SPCA to euthanize healthy animals. Those decisions are only made for animals that are terminally ill or critically injured with no hope of recovery.

Occasionally the EMC SPCA is confused with Madera County Animal Control in this regard.

Tisa's cats have had excellent care, and we feel that even the geriatric cats are adoptable. It is our goal to find loving homes for all of them.

Sharon Fitzgerald
President, EMCSPCA
