Just thinking
...about beauty.

I am always struck this time of year with the beauty of the wildflowers. How lovely it is to see the acres of yellow, white and purple flowers as I drive to and from work. I feel so fortunate to be able to enjoy that beauty daily, and I am reminded of the loveliness that surrounds us all the time.

Sunrises, sunsets, birds singing, cloud formations, streams running through a green field, a full moon -- these are all things of beauty in their own way and they are there for us to enjoy.

I like to see the high mountains, especially with snow; I like to see the sun reflected in the clouds; I like to see a cloud hovering over the valley.

Little children are beautiful to watch and observe. They are so innocent, so honest, so open -- they are to be appreciated for what they bring into our lives, and for the promise they hold for the future.

Man-made things are beautiful too but not in the same way, or with the same power, as things of nature. I appreciate the talent that goes into the things we create; I appreciate the hard work, the training, the education that has made it possible for people to do the things they do.

We are surrounded by beauty, it is there for us to enjoy. We need to remind ourselves to take the time to appreciate what is offered to us daily.
