The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, in cooperation with California Department of Fish and Game will hold two meetings to inform the public and obtain input regarding Fish and Game's hatchery and stocking program and the associated environmental analysis being conducted for this program.

Fish and Game has been providing recreational fishing opportunities to anglers throughout the state for more than 100 years.

Through this program, the department is responsible for stocking fish, including salmon and trout, in lakes and rivers throughout California.

FWS assists in funding the inland trout and Mad River steelhead portions of the program.

The agencies are preparing a joint environmental impact report to evaluate the potential effects the program has on aquatic resources and the environment.

The meetings will be held at Sacramento, Tsakopoulos Library Galleria, 828 "I" St., 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8 and Carson Community Center, 3 Civic Plaza Drive, Carson, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sept. 11.
